Department of Information Technology had commenced in the year of 2000. The Department is involved in rendering quality education by offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Information Technology.

In line with the fulfilment of vision and mission of institute. The Department has been catering theoretical and practical knowledge in various fields which includes Artificial Intelligence, Neural Network, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Security, Networking etc.

The Department has upgraded laboratories with latest equipments, instruments and software, for enhancement of technical skills and competencies.
Message from Head of the Department
Information Technology Department is the most flourishing discipline that cultivates at the cross road of new trends in Computer Engineering and Communication Technology. It provides the most demanding skills one can learn to excel in his profession. Department of Information Technology is committed to excellence in teaching, research and inculcating a sense of pride and confidence in our students.

The objective is to empower our students with state of the art technical knowledge and skills by providing them with the best teaching faculty, latest lab facilities and excellent working-learning environment. The motivation is not just limited to nurture their technical skills but to provide professional grooming and guidance so that our students come-up as thorough professionals and inspiring individuals.

The placement activities at department enables industry professional to witness the emerging talent and provide professional opportunities to the candidates. At the same time, the students get the opportunity to exhibit their innovative ideas, skills and potentials and discover a professional horizon for themselves. Programme Outcomes
1. Engineering knowledge : Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

2. Problem analysis : Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

3. Design/Development of solutions : Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

4. Conduct investigations of complex problems : Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

5. Modern tool usage : Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

6. The engineer and society : Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

7. Environment and sustainability : Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

Programme Educational Objectives :

1. Graduates will be able to employed in IT industries and be engaged in designing, hardware, networking, development, testing and applying new ideas for responsible software professionals in their own area ofinterest.

2. Graduates will be able to take up PGs/Research Programmes for further studies.

3. Graduates will acquire leadership qualities with strong communication skills along with professional and ethical values.

Programme Specific Outcomes :

PSO 1 : Apply the engineering knowledge in all domains, viz., healthcare, banking and finance, other professions such as medical, law, analyze and optimize mechanical systems/processes through applications of software.

PSO 2 : 2. Analyze the problem, sub divide into smaller tasks with well defined interface for interaction among components and complete within the specified time frame and financial constraints.
