Overview

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is a vital constituent of an educational institution. Its primary purpose is to develop and maintain a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the institution. Functioning as a nodal agency for quality enhancement, the IQAC plays a proactive role in promoting a culture of excellence in academics, administration, and infrastructure. It systematically monitors and evaluates the teaching-learning processes, research initiatives, and institutional support mechanisms to ensure that quality standards are met and continually improved upon. By encouraging participative management, stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to continuous improvement, the IQAC supports the institution in aligning its goals with the evolving demands of higher education. Its activities include the development of quality benchmarks, organization of workshops and seminars, documentation of institutional activities etc.

IQAC will facilitate/contribute

• To act as a change agent in the institution.
• To help improve the level of clarity and focus in institutional functioning towards quality enhancement and facilitate internalization of the quality culture in the institute.
• To suggest for improvement and integration among the institute activities and to institutionalize good practices.

IQAC shall evolve mechanisms and procedures for

• Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks.
• Ensure relevance and quality of academic and research programmes.
• Equitable access to and affordability of academic programmes for various sections of society.
• Implementation and integration of modern methods of teaching and learning.
• Setup credibility of evaluation procedures.
• Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and functioning of the support structure and services.
• Research sharing and networking with other institutions in India and abroad.

Some of the functions expected of the IQAC are:

• Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for the various academic and administrative activities of the institution.
• Dissemination of information on the various quality parameters of higher education.
• Organization of workshops, seminars on quality related themes.
• Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement.
• Acting as a nodal agency of the institution for quality-related activities.
• Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR).
• To guide institute NBA committee and institute academic audit committee.
