Library Staff
Dr. R. N. Mobarsa is currently serving as In-charge Librarian. He holds a Ph.D. in Library Science. Prof. A. M. Upadhyay and Prof. (Dr.) D. H. Solanki are working as Faculty Coordinators.
Issue of Library Tickets to Students
Each student is eligible for two library tickets upon submission of duly filed library registration form. Library tickets are required for issue of books from the library. However, newspapers, magazines and e-resources can be accessed even without library tickets. Students can avail blank copy of library membership form from the librarian and return the filled forms to him with necessary documents during working hours. No separate fees are to be paid for issue of library tickets while submitting the form.
These library tickets must be renewed at the start of each academic term to avail library books during the term.

However, in case of delayed return/renewal of books, a penalty will be charged for each day of such delayed return/renewal. The penalty amount will be collected by the librarian and must be registered by the student in the “Fine Register” maintained with the librarian with details of amount paid and student’s signature. The penalty is imposed only with a purpose of encouraging students to follow the time limits.

It is expected that students/faculties return the issued books in good condition within prescribed time limits. However, in case a book issued to a student or faculty gets lost or damaged, necessary procedure needs to be carried out. Students/Faculties in are requested to consult the librarian in this regard.
A faculty/student can recommend a book for purchase if he/she is finds that it is not available in the library or feels that more copies of the book should be available. For doing so, he/she must click on the following link and provide complete details of the book recommended.
https://forms.gle/Lsibrpb6YwukFoS86
List of books so recommended, will be forwarded to the concerned Head of Department for consideration, as and when the purchase procedure is taken up. The purchase will be strictly as per the guidelines from institute authorities and mere recommendation from a student/faculty will not be a sufficient reason for purchase of a book.

B. NPTEL Video Lectures and Web Courses
The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) was initiated by seven Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati and Roorkee) along with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2003, with a goal of developing web and video courses in all major branches of engineering, physical sciences at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and management courses at the postgraduate level.
The institute has procured two hard disk drives containing video lectures in total 327 NPTEL video courses and 343 web courses and has made available on institute WAN for viewing and downloading by students and faculties of the institute. A complete list of all the courses is available in the form of a spreadsheet on the same link for viewing/downloading.
The link to download these resources is shared with the students and faculties through notices displayed in the library as well as department buildings.
C. BISAG Video Lectures
Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG) is a State level agency by Government of Gujarat to facilitate and provide services and solutions in implementing map-based Geo-Spatial Information Systems. BISAG's SATCOM network is a satellite communication network service to provide distant interaction statewide. The SATCOM facility comprises an uplink earth station, control room, TV studio, and a network of receiving classrooms. As part of the initiative, a number of video lectures for different subjects of BE Sem-1 and 2 were delivered by eminent faculties from various engineering colleges across the state of Gujarat and were telecasted over the BISAG network.
The institute library has procured a complete set of these video lectures and made it available on the institute WAN for the students and faculties to view and download. The set includes video lectures in the following subjects :
- 1. Calculus
- 2. Vector Calculus and Linear Algebra
- 3. Elements of Civil Engineering
- 4. Elements of Mechanical Engineering
- 5. Elements of Electrical Engineering
- 6. Engineering Graphics
- 7. Basic Electronics
- 8. Computer Programming and Utilisation
D. Newspapers/Magazines
Daily newspapers and certain magazines are available for students and faculties.
The following table describes the process to access each of the digital resources mentioned above.
