Biography

Prof. Nayankumar P. Soni is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Shantilal Shah Engineering College, Bhavnagar. He earned his B.E. (Civil) and M.E. (Hydraulic Structures) from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad. His research interests include groundwater management, seawater intrusion modeling in coastal aquifers, GIS and remote sensing applications in hydrology, and highway safety analysis. He has presented his work at national and international conferences and published several research papers in reputed journals. Prof. Soni has authored five books, guided patents, and actively contributes as a reviewer for international journals. With professional experience in both academia and industry—including his tenure at WAPCOS (India) Ltd. and Shinas College of Technology, Oman—he has over two decades of expertise in teaching, research, and consultancy. At SSEC, he coordinates various academic and institutional activities such as Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP), NSS, RUSA, and PMKVY, while mentoring students in research and innovation. He is also a life member of ISTE, ISH, IWWA, AHI, and IWRS. Prof. Soni is committed to advancing civil engineering education and sustainable water resource management, while fostering innovation and professional ethics among future engineers.
